The Sherston Boule Ball on 26th June 2010
Preparations are well under way for a unique, never to be repeated Summer Ball in aid of
the 25th anniversary Boules Tournament this year.
Six Pinkney party people have formed the
core committee to organise what will be a fabulous black tie and ball-gowned affair.
So far the order of the ticket only evening is expected to consist of a champagne reception
followed by a three course dinner with entertainment, a gala raffle, live music, disco and bar.
Tickets for the 200 seat event are likely to be on sale for under £50 per guest.
The event will take place on the village hall field in a lined and decorated marquee with twenty
tables of ten guests, dance floor and bar area. The committee want to create a magical midsummer's
theme for the revellers and so every effort is being put into early planning and design to maximise
the quality and style of the event, ensuring everything will be placed to perfection come June.
The exact details of the event will be clarified and published next month and tickets will be on sale
on a specified date in March. Tickets will be issued for whole tables of ten although provision will
be made for guests in smaller numbers.
All profits from the ball with go directly to the Committee, boosting revenue
and, it is hoped, helping to add much needed funds that will ensure the 25th anniversary competition
is the best Sherston has ever seen.
As ever, we need help - whether it’s helping us to plan and publicise the events, helping to run events, or clearing up afterwards, there are jobs for everybody so get involved in any way you can. If you are new to the village this is a great way to meet new friends! Please contact Tony Weedon, Chairman on 01666 841377. Remember, this event raises a huge amount of money for village organisations and good causes - last year we raised over £8,000 - so do your bit for your village!
